Select a college, pick your preference, and start a real-time anonymous student chat across colleges and departments.
A simple place where students can talk to someone new.
"Istorya" is a Masbateño word that means to talk or share a conversation. That is really what this site is about. It is a simple random chat space made for students who want to meet someone outside their usual circle.
Maybe you just want a quick convo, maybe you want to meet someone from another college, or maybe you are just bored and want to talk to somebody new for a bit. Istorya gives you a simple way to do that without making things complicated.
You can jump in, choose a few preferences, and start chatting. Some conversations will be short, some will be funny, and some might actually stick with you. If you want the full story behind the project, you can always read more about it.
Start chatting in three simple steps.
Choose your college, gender, and who you want to talk to.
The system securely pairs you with an available student.
Say hello and start a meaningful conversation instantly.
Click a question to read the answer.
Usually, it just means there are not that many people in the queue at that moment. When there is no one else available, the system may end up matching you with the same person again. If more students are online and waiting, the chance of that happening drops a lot.
Yep. There is no paid tier hiding behind the first click, no subscription wall, and no sign-up fee waiting later. If you can open the site, you can use it.
Nope. Istorya lets you start as a guest, so there is no long registration form before you can chat. You choose your preferences, agree to the rules, and the session is created from there.
It is built around college-style conversations, especially for people who want to meet someone from another college. It is also meant for adults only, so this one is for 18+ users.
You can keep it simple with quick chat or set your own preferences first. The system can use the college and gender choices you pick, then it looks for someone available who fits that setup too.
It is anonymous by default. You do not need to use your real name or email just to start chatting. The app only asks for enough info to make matching work, and public chat names are optional when that room is available.
No. Messages are there to keep the conversation running, not to become a permanent archive. Private chat messages are entirely ephemeral — meaning they are relayed instantly through WebSockets and are never stored in our database. Public messages are cleared after a few hours.
It is not just a total free-for-all. Istorya filters a bunch of explicit sexual language, keeps anti-abuse checks in place, and repeated violations can lead to bans. It is still the internet, so common sense matters, but there are guardrails here.
Leave the chat and move on. You do not need to sit through that. The system already blocks a lot of explicit stuff, but the fastest move is still to end the conversation and start fresh.
Usually it means the other person left, their connection dropped, or the session went stale. Sometimes inactive sessions get cleaned up too. Most of the time, starting a new chat gets you going again right away.
Not in a direct way. There is no friends list, no username history, and no search box for old chats. In fact, the matching flow even tries not to throw you back to the exact same person right away.
Yep, it works in the browser on phone, tablet, and desktop. You do not need to download anything just to use it, although some browsers can let you save it like an app if you want.
If you want the longer version, you can always read the pages that go deeper into it.
