Current core functionality
Istorya currently supports anonymous one-to-one student chat with a no-signup flow. A user can open setup, choose preferences, and start a private conversation quickly. The platform also includes a public room mode for shared discussion, where everyone in that room can see ongoing messages in real time.
Matching and chat experience
The current chat experience includes quick mode and custom mode, so users can either start immediately or set simple filters first. During chat, users can send messages, reply to specific messages, use reactions, and end or restart conversations directly from the chat interface.
Public room and temporary messaging behavior
The public room supports live messaging, temporary message visibility, and reaction feedback. The private chat and public chat are presented as separate experiences so users can choose between one-on-one conversation and a shared room.
User controls and usability features
Users can switch theme mode, adjust chat bubble color, and manage optional notification behavior from in-site settings. The site also includes onboarding guidance, queue and online indicators, and reconnect handling so users can continue using the platform with less friction.
Safety-focused functional coverage
I currently enforce community-rule behavior through moderation actions, reporting pathways, and access restrictions for repeated abuse. I keep these protections active as an ongoing priority while avoiding public disclosure of operational details that could weaken platform safety.
