Find someone you can istorya with.

“Istorya” is a Masbateño word that means to talk or share a conversation. I made it as a simple place where you can meet someone new, share a thought, or talk without making a big introduction.

Chat with someone, join Public Chat, post a Vent, or play a game while you talk. It’s free, and you don’t need an account. Students and graduates aged 18 and over in the Philippines are welcome.

How it works

  1. Choose where to start.

Open setup and pick Quick Chat, Custom, Public, or Vent. You can start as a guest without signing up.

  2. Set your preferences.

Custom lets you choose the college and gender you want to match with. Quick Chat searches any college and gender; your own details default to “Prefer not to say.”

  3. Say hello.

Private chat pairs you with someone who’s available. If no one matches yet, try wider preferences or come back later.

What you can do

Private chatTalk one-on-one

Talk with one person at a time. Ask about their day, talk about school or hobbies, or just see where the conversation goes. You can leave whenever you’re done.

Public ChatJoin a shared conversation

Join a shared conversation with other people. Pick an optional display name, say hi, or read along for a while.

VentPost or reply anonymously

Post anonymously, read other vents, or leave a supportive reply. You can turn replies off before posting. Save your recovery code so you can manage your posts if you change browsers.

GamesPlay with your chat partner

Type /games in private chat to invite your partner. Your partner can accept or decline, and you can cancel an invitation. You can keep chatting while you play.

What I ask of everyone

  • Be decent to each other.

No harassment, hate, threats, unwanted sexual messages, spam, or harmful links.

  • Respect a no.

Don’t pressure anyone to give out personal details or stay in a chat.

  • Keep it respectful everywhere.

The same rules apply in private chat, Public Chat, games, and replies on Vent. Being anonymous isn’t a reason to treat someone badly.

Safety comes first

Keep your phone number, address, passwords, student ID, and recovery code to yourself. College, gender, and education status are self-selected, not proof of someone’s identity.

You can stop a chat whenever something feels wrong. Use the three-dot menu to report harmful Vent posts or replies. For other concerns, email contactus@istorya.chat or message Istorya on Facebook.

Istorya has moderation checks, but they can miss things. I can’t promise that every conversation will be safe. Private messages aren’t saved as chat history. Public Chat messages are temporary; Vent posts and replies are stored on the server. Read the Privacy Policy and Safety Guide before sharing anything personal.

I build and maintain Istorya on my own. I’m a 4th-year Computer Science student at Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology. Istorya is open to eligible users from every school and region in the Philippines.

I’m still improving it, and I appreciate everyone who gives it a try or points out something that could be better. More about Istorya.
